Homemade BBQ Sauce
Today’s post is about BBQ SAUCE!!
A few of you have asked for sauces and seasonings.
This one is a favorite in our house and its gluten-free and soy-free. In fact, the bbq sauce is top 8 allergen free. This sauce is pretty easy to make and the fact that its soy free is an added bonus. You can make extra and freeze it. I would just warm it up in the pot to even it out when defrosting it. Add a little broth, if you need to adjust the consistency. By the way, are you happy to know its also free of refined sugars? Enjoy!
Homemade BBQ Sauce Recipe
Ingredients:
6 oz can of tomato paste
3/4 cup water
2Tbs balsamic vinegar
2Tbs maple syrup
1Tbs organic raw sugar
2Tbs Worcestershire sauce (I used Lea and Perrins US.)
1TBS Onion Puree (This is just onion in a blender )
1TBS Broth (Vegetable or Chicken)
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp of paprika
a pinch of salt
I recommend using a nonstick pot.
Directions:
In a nonstick pot, heat up the onion puree and broth till the puree is heated through (over low heat).
Combine the rest of the ingredients together in the pot.
Heat the ingredients over medium heat to a gentle boil.
Taste and adjust seasoning to desire taste.
Heat through and give it a stir every minute, for about five minutes.
(Watch the pot…since there is sugar…it will burn if you leave it alone)
Per Serving: 2TBS

My mouth is watering for this BBQ sauce. I have been going through a phase of using BBQ sauce instead of ketchup.
