Vegan Cafe-ccino (Two Recipes)
I bet you are wondering, what in the world is a cafe-ccino? The best way to describe it, would be that it is a vegan protein based coffee smoothie. I came up with it after craving a Frappaccino one day. I use to be very addicted to Starbucks Frappaccinos but with the high price tag and equally high sugar content, it all had to stop. I needed to make a drink that would satisfy my cravings and at the same time provide me with extra nutrients. After a few trials with the blender, the cafe-chino was born!
*Note: I happen to use a pea based organic vegan protein powder. This is due to the fact that we have soy allergies in the house. Please use the brand that works best for your family as each family has different dietary needs and restrictions.
Coffee Vegan Cafe-ccino
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of ice
- 1 cup of unsweetened vanilla vegan milk (I used flax milk.)
- 1/2-1 cup of cold water (Depends on your personal preference and if you use instant or not.)
- 2 shots of espresso or 1 teaspoon of instant coffee
- 2 teaspoon of organic maple syrup (If not vegan organic raw honey is fine.)
- 1 scoop of organic vegan vanilla protein powder
Directions
Place all the ingredients into a blender till combined smooth.
Vegan Cafe-ccinos
Mocha Vegan Cafe-ccino
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of ice
- 1 cup of unsweetened vanilla vegan milk
- 1/2-1 cup of cold water
- 2 shots of espresso or 1 teaspoon of instant coffee
- 1 teaspoon or organic cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoon of organic maple syrup (If not vegan organic raw honey is fine.)
- 1 scoop of organic vegan chocolate protein powder
- 1 teaspoon of Jenny’s Vegan Chocolate Sauce
Directions:
Place all the ingredients into a blender (except the Vegan Chocolate Sauce).
Blend all the ingredients till combined smooth.
Serve in your favorite container and drizzle with the Vegan Chocolate Sauce.
