Allergy Party Box
With the beginning of the school year, we have to think about many things for our allergy kids. Did we sign all the emergency forms? Food action allergy forms? Epipen Forms? Notify the cafeteria of allergies? Are all the medications expirations up to date? Then comes the what to pack for lunch boxes? How do I rotate the foods to match up with the lunch calendar or should I just pack leftovers? After all those concerns, what our allergy kid really cares about are class parties!

I have to admit, it makes a big (ok, HUGE) difference when you have a teacher and school district that are understanding to food allergies. Our school is peanut and tree nut free but not of other allergens. The teacher knowing that my kiddo is allergic to so many food allergens asks us to provide a “Party Box” for her. This is specific for those days where other parents who might order cupcakes for birthdays or other class celebrations (that might not be on our parent calendar). She offered to keep it in a cabinet where only she can access it for my kiddo. I thought this was extremely thoughtful as this provides a party treat for my allergy child when needed and its keeps me from running back to school with a treat bag last minute!
The one thing that is required is that all snacks brought into the classroom has to be individually wrapped and come from the School Safe Food List. One of my daughter’s favorite party treat is Enjoy Life cookies, especially the Crunchy Honey Vanilla Graham. The problem was that it came in a large box and its not like she could take 2 out and then put the rest back into her party box till the next party! Well, we just found out that Enjoy Life came out with individual packages of their most popular cookies in the miniature size. This line is appropriately call “Minis”. They come in 7 different varieties but the Soft Baked Chocolate Chip, Crunchy Double Chocolate and Crunchy Vanilla Honey Graham cookies are her favorite. Since this is a party box and not a day to day lunch box, I let her pick out her 3 favorites. 🙂
If you are trying to get your hands on some Minis, search through the Locator.

Jenny’s Note: Since I am one of Enjoy Life’s official blogger. They were kind of enough to send me these samples for our “back to school” because they knew my daughter loves these cookies. I did not get paid to review this product, this blog is a reflection of we actually did.
