Instant Pot Apple Sauce

Instant Pot Apple Sauce

This morning I made this instant pot apple sauce after I dropped off the kids at practice. This recipe is as straight forward as it comes and takes less than 30min (this includes prepping, cooking and cooling). This is a quick way to use up apples which are in season and apple sauce makes a great snack, breakfast, or side.  I store mine in air tight containers and they keep approximately 2 weeks in the back of the fridge. If you happen to make more than you can finish in 2 weeks, you can also freeze them. However, in our house I rarely have leftovers. Lets get started with this recipe and you will be amazed how quick it is!

Instant Pot Apple Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 8-9 medium organic gala apples (peeled, cored and quartered)
  • 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice
  • 4 tablespoon of water
  • OPTIONAL: organic maple syrup to taste

Instant Pot Apple Sauce

Directions:

  1. Place the quartered apples into the well of the instant pot.
  2. Add in the lemon juice and the water to the apples.
  3. Use a large spoon to coat the apples with the lemon juice and water.
  4. Set the instant pot to cook for 5 minutes on High Pressure.
  5. Once the indicator on the pot shows the cooking cycle as completed, turn off the pot and allow for a natural release of pressure of your pot. *Make sure that you follow the manufacturer’s directions in allowing the proper pressure release and cooling of your pot.
  6. Use an immersion blender to blend to desired consistency.
  7. OPTIONAL:add maple syrup to taste.
  8. Enjoy!

This recipe makes approximately a quart and 8-9 servings.

Each serving is 1/2 cup.
