Pollen Allergy Survival Kit

Disclosure: I received a sample of Similasan products for free from Moms Meet to use, to review and to post 100% my honest opinion.

“Spring is in the air…”, what does that mean to you? Do you think about flowers or girls
in flowing white dresses running through a field of daffodils? For me, I think about swollen eyes, runny noses and scratchy throats. I guess that’s not a very romantic view of the season but it’s my reality. With one child who undergoes immunotherapy for airborne allergies and another who undergoes special asthma protocol during spring pollen season, I believe in being prepared. Lets be honest, even with allergies…we still need to run our carpools, go to practices and take finals. That’s why, I want to talk about having an airborne allergies survival kit.

Prescription Medications: Based on the severity of your allergies you may need prescribed items such as Epi-Pens, inhalers and antihistamines. (These items should be taken and carried based on the instructions of your licensed physicians.)

Similasan Allergy Eye Relief: Even before I received this sample from Mom’s Meet for free, I already regularly purchase it at my local Target and Walmart to use.  In fact, we keep a bottle on each of the kids’ headboard. The children have a daily ritual of getting drops every morning and before bedtime. The drops has been instrumental in helping with the dryness and itchiness they complain about. These eye drops uses plant based natural active ingredients like eyebright and sabadilla. Eyebright (Euphrasia) is intended to temporarily relieve minor symptoms such as a thick mucus and/or watery discharge, redness, and swelling of the eyelid. Sabadilla is intended to temporarily relieve minor symptoms such as watering eyes and eyelid redness. These eyedrops are a must in our household during allergy season!

(In case you are wondering, these eye drops are dairy free and gluten free!)

Similasan Allergy Nasal Allergy Relief: Another Similasan product that is a “must have” for myself and my children is the nasal relief. It is also formulated with natural active ingredients. We use it to loosening the sinus congestion or relieve the itching for my kids. What’s great about this spray is that the formula is non-drowsy, gluten free and dairy free.

Tissues: This is one that we can’t forget! If you are like my youngest with the constant runny nose, you have to carry MULTIPLE packs of your favorite tissues.  I know in a pinch we grab napkins and random tissues from wherever we are…those can be really hard on that sensitive skin right below our nose.

Wet Wipes: This is good for those times when you can’t get to a sink to wash the pollen off your face. I like to get the ones that has no harsh chemicals or fragrances.  My kids sometimes can get rashes from the ones that are scented.

Bottle Of Water: You may not realize this but with the runny eyes and nose, it’s important to rehydrate yourself.

These are some of my favorites from my airborne allergy survival kit, what are things that you like to carry during pollen season?
